We warmly invite you to celebrate World Thinking Day 2025 with Polish Guides and Scouts! Join us in the days leading up to this special event and on World Thinking Day itself.
We encourage units of all ages from your Member Organization to participate alongside Polish units by completing activities from the WAGGGS "Our Story" activity pack, specially prepared for WTD 2025. This is our fourth year organizing this initiative, and in previous years, more than 200 units from around the world and 200 units from ZHP have participated.
You can learn more about the activity pack and WTD on the WAGGGS Campfire platform.
What's it all about?
Our initiative pairs units/groups from different parts of the world with Polish Scouts and Guides. Each duo will have the chance to work together on a task, fostering friendships and cultural exchange. The activity should be inspired by the WAGGGS World Thinking Day 2025 pack. You can either choose a new task from the pack or incorporate something you've already planned for WTD. The key is that we celebrate WTD together!
This year, you have the flexibility to participate online, in person, or a combination of both. You can follow the activity instructions from the pack exactly or adapt them to fit your usual WTD celebration program. Whether virtual or in-person, we look forward to sharing this experience with you!
What is needed to participate?
Where is the room for cooperation?
You can collaborate in several ways: hold a joint activity from WTD25 pack during an online meeting, work on a project separately within your units and then share the results, or even join your partner group’s celebrations virtually. Other ideas include exchanging postcards, letters, small tokens of friendship, or completing a challenge together.
This is a fantastic opportunity to form new international friendships, learn from one another, discuss and share perspectives, and take action for your local community. Let’s explore the values of our Movement and what it means to be a Guide and Scout! We hope this initiative will be the start of a long-lasting friendship.
What to do to participate?
The organisers will inform International Commissioners about units from their MOs participating in the initiative.
Please complete the form so we can find the most suitable Polish unit/group for you. Once we receive your application, we will contact the International Commissioner (IC) from your Member Organization (MO) to obtain endorsement for your participation.
Deadline
We would like international groups and units to express their interest by filling in the questionnaire by 12th January 2025 23:59 CET.
This initiative pairs Guide and Scout units/groups from around the world with Polish units to complete activities together based on the WAGGGS World Thinking Day 2025 pack. The goal is to foster international friendships, promote cultural exchange, and celebrate World Thinking Day (WTD) together.
Once you’re paired with a Polish unit, you can choose an activity from the WTD 2025 pack to do together. You can participate in person, online, or a mix of both. It's flexible — follow the activity as described or adapt it to fit your WTD plans.
You can join the initiative until January 12, 2025. After that, you will receive the details of your partner unit and can start collaborating on WTD activities. The time frame for completing the tasks with your paired Polish unit is from the second half of January 2025 through the end of February 2025. Please consider any other planned activities during this period and indicate in the registration form any specific dates when you will be unavailable.
No, you can adapt the activities from the WTD pack to suit your unit’s style and interests. The important part is that you celebrate WTD together with your partner group.
The goal is to create lasting international friendships, share cultures, and work together as Guides and Scouts on meaningful projects inspired by the WAGGGS WTD 2025 theme “Our Story”. This is also a chance to explore the values of the Movement and make a difference in your local communities.
